If your laser does not connect to the software, it is often due to disabled settings or existing connections to other devices.
Follow the troubleshooting steps below in order to restore the Bluetooth connection.
Solution 1: Disconnect from Other Devices
The DISTO X3 automatically prefers to connect to devices it has previously been paired with. If the device is connected to another tablet/laptop, it will not be detected by the software on your current device.
Turn off Bluetooth on all other nearby devices that the X3 was previously connected to.
Solution 2: Check and Turn On Bluetooth on the DISTO
For example, after a battery change, Bluetooth on the DISTO X3 is frequently disabled automatically.
Press the FUNC button.
Select the left square (Settings) beneath the gear icon.
Check the Bluetooth status (On / Off).
Press the equals button (
=) to turn Bluetooth on again.

Solution 4: Re-pair Bluetooth on the Tablet/Laptop
If Bluetooth is active on the X3 but the connection still fails:
Open the Bluetooth settings of your tablet or laptop.
Unpair / remove the DISTO X3 from the list of known devices.
Restart the search and pair the X3 again.
Solution 5: Reset the Laser to Factory Settings
If the previous steps do not resolve the issue, reset the measuring device:
Press the FUNC button on the X3.
Select the left square beneath the gears.
Use the minus button (
-) to scroll all the way to the right to the icon with the exclamation mark in a circle (!).Confirm your selection with the equals button (
=).Then press the right square to complete the reset.
