How to set a default SAVE/OPEN file folder location for drawings

By default, ARES Commander remembers the last-used folder when performing SAVE/OPEN operations. For example, if a drawing was saved in 'C:\Drawings\' the last time, ARES Commander will open this same folder the next time.

This behavior can be changed, by changing the value of the REMEMBERFOLDERS variable:

The REMEMBERFOLDERS (System Variable) controls the default path displayed in standard file selection dialog boxes.

Default value: 1

Value: 0

Uses the default path that you specified in Drawing Files Location , in the Options dialog box, for all standard file selection dialog boxes.

Value: 1

Uses as default path, in each standard file selection dialog box, the last path that you specified in that dialog box. The path that you specified in the Options dialog box is not used.

Note: For REMEMBERFOLDERS=0, the Default path will be the one set under Options>File Locations> Drawing Files Location (The default path is customizable).
