We are going to explore the interface that will help you develop a project.

How does the workspace work?

The workspace is an interface used to develop a project. That interface gives us some information and have the tools that we need to make a project.

📖INFO: Look at the image, the pallets are inside the tabs and are indicated by arrows. When you click on them, it is possible to navigate between the pallets.

1 – Header

It is where we get some information about the module of the product and name of an opened project.

2 – Menu

Displays some project options.

3 – Quick Access Toolbar

It is the upper left icons (save/open/new project/undo).

4 – Tabs

The tabs are the ones that separate the main functions;
e.g.: GE start / GE Modify / GE Manage / GE View.

5 – Graphics Area

The Graphics Area is where we are able to insert components, wires and make the electric design. The window can be resized.

6 – Project Guide

Notifies about the opened projects and allows navigation between the projects.

7 – Pallet

The Pallets are located in both sides of Graphics Area. Several tasks are made inside the pallets.

8 – Command window

The command window allows to perform some commands using text. Make a test: type L to draw a line. When you insert a line the software will ask the first insertion point.

💡TIP: You can always check the next step of a tool there.

9 – Reference bar

The reference bar is located on the bottom of the application window and is divided into two main areas: drafting setting and coordinate display.
The drafting setting shows resources of a CAD platform. They are Snap (Snap display); Grid (grid display); Ortho (Ortho Mode); Polar (Polar guide); ESnap (Entity Snap); ETrack;

What is the function of pallets?

Project (Custom)

Responsible for managing wires, cables, terminals and components information inside the project.

Component

It is responsible for the component library. Every component registered in database will be displayed in this pallet.

Wires/Cables

The idea is basically the same of component pallet. The wire and cable pallets are responsible for their related function in the database.

⚠️WARNING: If you make a new electric diagram, we should use only wires and cables. Do not use lines (command line “shortcut L”) to connect symbol components.

Pages

The page pallet is the place where you can manage the pages inside the project. The pages can hold titles and properties that are used as description of a page in a project for example.

Properties

The properties pallet is responsible to make changes in entities, attributes, notes, dimensions and so on.
