Note: Since ARES Commander 2015 we ship only 64-bit Linux versions! This article below is only valid for older versions/ Pre-2015.

Please note that as long as the native x64 version of ARES CE is not released,
we do not support ARES CE on a 64 bit Linux.

Please note: We can neither guarantee that this will work for all configurations nor that these steps don't result in unwanted changes to your Linux system.ย

We have tested successfully the installation as a 32bit Software on Ubuntu x64 14.04 and the following steps can be applied.
โ€‹

Because these steps need root permissions in a shell, please start a terminal
(XTerm / UXTerm etc) first or change to the command line using Ctrl-Alt-F2

There execute:

$sudo bash
#dpkg --add-architecture i386 && apt-get update
#apt-get install lib32z1 lib32ncurses5 lib32bz2-1.0
#apt-get install libuuid1:i386 libice6:i386 libsm6:i386 libxt6:i386 libaudio2:i386\
libgtk2.0-0:i386 libcanberra-gtk-module:i386 libcanberra-gtk0:i386 libglu1-mesa:i386

Finally download the Debian package of ARES CE and install it.
(Double click on it in the file manager - it will be opened and executed
with the Ubuntu Software Center).
