What’s New in Kudo 1.196
The Kudo 1.196 release introduces significant enhancements to the Trinity Block Library and automation capabilities, boosting both usability and performance. Users can now upload structured folders, parse drawings for content blocks, and manage block libraries more efficiently with new features like block editing, special block representation, and placement options. A tree view display and the ability to create and modify block libraries directly from the palette improve workflow flexibility. Additionally, the ARES CLI Automation service is now integrated, enabling users to run predefined jobs on cloud-stored files without opening the editor—reducing manual effort and offloading heavy tasks like BIM automation. UI improvements include refined icons, better dark/light mode consistency, and updated folder creation dialogs. Performance has been optimized through better cache management and virtualized UI components. Numerous bugs were resolved across Trinity Block Library, CLI, and general workflows, including block insertion issues, UI glitches, permission inconsistencies, and automation errors. Overall, this release delivers a faster, more reliable, and user-friendly experience for CAD users across platforms.
✨ New Features & Stories
Block Library Enhancements
The Trinity Block Library has been enhanced to offer a more intuitive and powerful block management experience across platforms. Users can now enjoy improved workflow flexibility with features like uploading structured folders and parsing drawings for content blocks through the Block Library Manager. The updated Trinity Block Library Palette introduces capabilities such as editing blocks, representing special and parent blocks more clearly, and accessing new block placement options. A Tree View display and the ability to create new block libraries or add blocks directly from the palette further streamline the user experience. These improvements collectively enable smoother, more efficient block organization and usage within the Trinity ecosystem.
Added support for block placement options
Introduced block library palette tree view
Enabled the ability to create new block libraries directly from the palette
Added "replace source file" feature for blocks
Implemented the "upload folder" button in the Trinity Block Library
Improved UI with the new blocks representation
Added description field for blocks
ARES Online Drawings Automation
The ARES Online Drawings Automation service into ARES Kudo introduces a powerful way to automate CAD workflows without opening the editor. This enhancement allows users to trigger predefined jobs directly from the automation UI, streamlining processes that don’t require manual intervention. It significantly reduces user effort for repetitive tasks—such as batch file exports—and offloads resource-heavy operations like BIM drawings automation from the local system. Users can run these tasks on files stored in cloud platforms like Google Drive, Dropbox, or Box, with output files either saved back to the cloud or downloaded directly from the Automation page.
