In ARES Electrical, you can associate accessories such as additional contact blocks or auxiliary units with a main component. This is particularly useful for devices like multi-position switches or contactors that require more than one contact or accessory.
This article will guide you through the process of linking accessories to a main item in your schematic.
🔧 Step-by-step Instructions
Insert the Main Component;
Start by placing the primary item in your schematic using the Symbols Palette or from your Component Library.
Components library> Double-click item> insert in the Graphics Area.
Project Palette;
Open the Project Palette> Right-Click the item you want to link an accessory> Link accessories...Link the Accessory;
Through the Accessories link dialog, select the desired Accessory from the list on the left side> Add the item to the right device, selecting it from the list on the right side, and click the lower blue '+' Symbol.
💡TIP: You can select multiple components in your project to link the same accessory at once. This speeds up the process by allowing you to add accessories to all relevant contactors simultaneously instead of manually configuring them one by one.
To link the same accessory to several components, do the following:
Select all the components in the Project palette> Right-click, Link accessories...
Through the Accessories link dialog, select the desired Accessory from the list on the left side> Add the item to all devices using the upper green '+' Symbol.
All devices will be linked to the chosen accessory.
4. Click OK.
5. Define contact numbers if needed;
6. Go to the Project palette and verify that the accessories are linked and the new
contacts can now be inserted in the Graphics Area.
