The Automatic Insertion workflow in ARES Electrical is designed to streamline the creation of electrical projects by automatically generating complete project structures based on predefined configurations.

With this feature, users can reuse standardized subcircuits—such as power supplies, motor starters, or control circuits—and automatically insert them into a project using configuration data. This approach significantly reduces manual work and ensures consistency across electrical documentation.

How Automatic Insertion Works

Automatic Insertion is based on the combination of:

  • Predefined subcircuits stored in the library

  • A configuration file (.CFA)

  • A spreadsheet containing project parameters

Using these elements, ARES Electrical can:

  • Insert all required subcircuits automatically

  • Create the necessary project pages

  • Apply configuration data such as:

    • Voltage

    • Current

    • Power

    • Descriptions

  • Populate attributes across the schematic and project structure

This results in a fully structured project generated in a consistent and automated way.

Step-by-Step: Using Automatic Insertion

To create an automatic insertion using the default library:

  1. Go to the Insert tab.

  2. In the Automatic Insertion panel, click Insert...

  3. Select the default .CFA configuration file.

  4. Click Import.

  5. Select the configuration spreadsheet.

  6. Click Add.

ARES Electrical will then:

  • Insert all subcircuits referenced in the spreadsheet

  • Adjust component parameters based on the provided data

  • Automatically create multiple pages

  • Populate page names and attributes across the graphical area
