In ARES Electrical 2027 SP0, a new native tool has been introduced to simplify library management by allowing users to import and export library content using the new AEPACK file format.

With this enhancement, users can transfer complete library folders directly from the Components, Symbols, and Catalog Parts palettes. Entire folders can be packaged into a single AEPACK file, including all related dependencies such as associated DWG blocks.

This workflow provides a faster and more reliable way to share, back up, or migrate library content between systems and environments.

New AEPACK Library Workflow

ARES Electrical now supports a new packaging format called AEPACK, designed specifically to bundle library data efficiently.

Using AEPACK, users can:

  • Export complete library folders into a single file

  • Preserve folder structure and dependencies

  • Import the content into another system with minimal effort

This ensures that library content remains complete and consistent across installations.

Where to Access Import and Export

The Import and Export options are available directly inside the library palettes:

  • Components Palette

  • Symbols Palette

  • Catalog Parts Palette

To access the feature:

  1. Open one of the library palettes.

  2. Right-click any folder inside the palette tree.

  3. Use one of the new options in the context menu:

    • Export...

    • Import...

How to Export a Library Folder as AEPACK

  1. Open the Components, Symbols, or Catalog Parts palette.

  2. Right-click the folder you want to export.

  3. Select Export...

  4. Choose the destination location.

  5. Save the file in .aepack format.

ARES Electrical will generate a single AEPACK file containing the selected folder and all related content.

  2. Right-click the folder location where you want to import the content.
