ARES Electrical changes how Accessory-type items behave when selected from the Components, Symbols, or Catalog Parts palette. Instead of attempting to insert an accessory directly — which always resulted in a "schematic file not defined" error — the application now guides you straight to the one workflow that actually works: linking the accessory to a host component.
This applies across all library types, so the experience is now consistent no matter where the accessory comes from.
How It Works
Double-click an accessory item, or right-click and choose Link Accessory to...
ARES Electrical prompts you in the graphical area: "Specify component to link the accessory."
Select the host component already in your drawing — for example, linking an LED module accessory to an existing pilot light.
The library now also shows a distinct icon for accessory items, making them easier to recognize at a glance.
This removes the old dead-end error entirely and replaces it with clear, guided navigation for the only valid accessory workflow.
