ARES Commander 2027 SP0 (27.0.1.1128) - Released 20/03/2026

YOU CAN QUICKLY REVIEW THE TOP UPDATES:

QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENTS

  • SPEED GAINS IN ARES COMMANDER

    • Testing with 65 reference drawings and 5 different hardware configurations has confirmed that ARES Commander 2027 is the fastest version ever. In comparison to version 2026 SP0, which was released in 2025, ARES Commander version 2027 SP0 opens drawings up to 20% faster. In addition, COPY operations are up to 50% faster, navigation is 9–25% faster, and SAVE and autosave run without blocking the interface.

  • 2D & 3D CAD IN DWG FOR WINDOWS, MAC & LINUX

    • COPY PROPERTIES BETWEEN DRAWINGS

      • The updated PROPERTYPAINTER command streamlines workflows, especially when working on projects split across multiple files that require consistent styling and standards. Simply copy properties from an entity in one drawing, then apply them to entities in another open drawing!
And in addition to standard properties, users can also match special properties similar to those supported in AutoCAD.

  • XREF: MANAGE LINKS AND REPAIR PATHS EASILY

    • Resolve broken references quickly — or better yet, prevent them in the first place. When saving a drawing with relative path Xrefs to a new location, ARES Commander displays a warning if those references may not load — helping prevent broken links. And with a new batch workflow, users can correct all missing reference paths in a single step, avoiding manual updates.

  • CONVERT DWG TO STEP (STEP IMPORT/EXPORT)

    • Do you need to share 3D models with SOLIDWORKS®, Inventor®, PTC Onshape®, other CAD, CAM, or CAE applications? Simplify collaboration with clients and partners by using STEP (.stp/.step), one of the most widely used exchange formats for 3D CAD and PLM software. STEP Import was introduced in a previous version of ARES Commander, and now you can convert your DWG drawings to STEP as well.

  • QUICK AREA CALCULATION AND LABELING

    • Available online in ARES Kudo, on the desktop in ARES Commander, and in mobile devices on ARES Touch, AREANOTE calculates areas quickly and represents them visually within drawings. After selecting a region — either by clicking inside it or by defining its boundary — the command automatically:
Calculates the area (in drawing units)
Creates a colored fill for easy visual identification (with optional transparency)
Adds a label showing the measured area and/or a custom description

AI AND AUTOMATION FOR DWG

  • CREATE AND MODIFY DWG ENTITIES WITH A3

    • The latest enhancements to ARES AI Assist (A3) in ARES Commander and ARES Kudo extend the power of this CAD-savvy artificial intelligence, which is specially trained to help ARES users. The improvements include the ability to select and modify entities with the same prompt. In addition, A3 can now create simple entities (such as lines, polylines, rectangles, and circles) according to user specifications.

  • REAL-TIME COMMAND RECOMMENDATIONS

    • Spend less time searching for tools with the new command recommendation system in ARES Commander 2027. This AI-powered widget uses intelligent algorithms to analyze your interactions with the software in real time, then provides a list of 6 commands that are most likely to be used next. By tracking command sequences and usage patterns, the system builds adaptive user profiles, enabling personalized recommendations.

  • GENERATE BLOCKS IN TRINITY BLOCK LIBRARY WITH AI

    • Creating CAD blocks in ARES Commander and ARES Kudo just got a lot easier, thanks to a new tool that can generate precise CAD components directly from simple text descriptions. With the new AI-Assisted Block Generation tool, you can simply describe what you need — such as a door swing, a power outlet, or a table — and the system will generate an accurate, standards-aligned symbol for you.

  • AUTOMATION FROM THE CLOUD STORAGE PALETTE

    • The Cloud Storage palette enables you to connect ARES Commander with your cloud storage accounts, so you can open and edit the files stored there as if they were saved on your hard drive. Now, you can also right-click on the files to launch an automation. For example, simply right-click on a PDF file and select Convert to DWG, and the Online Automation job will perform the conversion.

BIM-TO-DWG DRAWINGS AUTOMATION

  • REVIT 2026 FILE FORMAT SUPPORT

    • BIM drawings are DWG drawings generated from Revit or IFC BIM projects uploaded into ARES Commander. This generation can be completed automatically, thanks to Graebert’s BIM-to-DWG drawings automation technology. Now that ARES Commander 2027 has added support for the Revit 2026 file format, users can generate BIM drawings from RVT files created in Revit versions 2011 through 2026.

  • BIM DRAWINGS AUTOMATION CONNECTED WITH AUTODESK FORMA DATA MANAGEMENT

    • ARES Commander and ARES Kudo can automate the creation of DWG files from Revit or IFC files. These files can be stored locally on your computer or in a connected Cloud storage account, such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, OneDrive, or Microsoft SharePoint. Now you can also connect to Autodesk Forma Data Management (previously known as Autodesk Construction Cloud, or ACC), and therefore use Revit files that are stored there.

  • ONLINE BIM DRAWINGS AUTOMATION FROM ARES COMMANDER

    • The BIMAUTOALL, BIMRELOAD, and BIMDATAEXTRACTION commands can now be used from our online service, yet accessed directly from ARES Commander. Based on the ARES Online Drawings Automation features previously released in ARES Kudo, this feature offloads tasks to an online server, so you can keep working on other activities without interruption. You also have the ability to schedule automation tasks for a future time, and to set up recurring jobs.

CLOUD-BASED COLLABORATION FOR CAD IN DWG

  • CREATE AND MODIFY DWG FILES IN AUTODESK FORMA DATA MANAGEMENT

    • The new integration with Autodesk Forma Data Management enables ARES Commander, ARES Kudo, and ARES Touch users to browse, create, and edit DWG drawings in synchronization with this cloud storage. It also unlocks the option to use the Trinity Collaboration features — such as version control, secure sharing, and markup & commenting tools — even though the files are staying in Autodesk Forma.

  • FREE VERSION OF ARES KUDO CUTS COSTS WHILE EXPANDING COLLABORATION ACROSS YOUR COMPANY

    • ARES Kudo is more than just a powerful online CAD application that lets you create, edit, and collaborate on DWG drawings directly in a browser. It also streamlines design workflows and boosts productivity with cloud collaboration, AI assistance, and drawings automation. And with the free version of ARES Kudo, you can have a mix of free and paid users within the same company, improving collaboration while limiting costs.
