After the renewal of subscription, or to use ARES Commander after a major release change (e.g. upgrade from ARES Commander 2023 to ARES Commander 2024) the license content of the Graebert Flex Network License Manager (FNLM) needs to be renewed/updated.

Upgrading a License

1. To create an update for the NETLIC license file, open the customer portal on Graebert website.

2. The organization admin space can be opened with the top right menu.

3. Open “ARES Commander” entry from the “Products” menu.

4. Scroll to the bottom of the ARES Commander entry and select “Reactivate Flex-License”.

5. Confirm the reactivation process with ‘Activate’-button.

6. An upgraded license file will be prepared and can be loaded by “Download License File”.

7. The Graebert Flex Network License Manager (FNLM) console screen needs to be opened.

8. Open the “Service” menu and choose menu entry “Stop”. The NLM service will stop, and the icon changes from green to red.

9. Import the new NETLIC license file into the Graebert NLM. NOTE: The “old” NETLIC License file must be deleted.

10. The upper grid with the list of licenses available will be enhanced by the upgraded entries.

11. The obsolete license entries must be removed from the grid by using “Delete license” from the context menu (right click on each obsolete grid row). You can also do this, prior to Import the new license.

12. The NLM service needs to be restarted. Open the “Service” menu and choose menu entry “Start”. The icon on the top-left of the License Manager window will change from red to green the the licensing service is operational.
