To restore ARES Commander to its factory settings, please enter in the search box next to the start menu "Reset Settings" and select this option.

Note: When you have selected the "Reset Settings"-option the migration dialog will be shown: It is recommended to choose "chancel",otherwise older folders will be linked to the previous used folders and you will no be able to achieve a "clean" installation again (should you need to).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Below the Manual Method to Reset the ARES Commander Settings:

To restore the factory or installation settings of ARES Commander you can rename or remove the following user settings folder under:

Location under Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10(32-Bit):
c:\Users\[User name]\AppData\Roaming\ARES Commander Edition

For the 64-Bit Version of ARES:
c:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\ARES Commander Edition x64

Location under Windows XP (obsolete, not supported with newer ARES Commander versions):
c:\Documents and Settings\[User name]\ApplicationData\ARES Commander Edition

Notes:
ARES Commander shouldn't run during the renaming or removing process of the user settings folder.

The display of AppData folder is hidden in Windows system defaults. You can change it in the Windows Explorer via the Menu Tools->Folder Options...->Tab View and the list box "Advanced Settings".

By typing %appdata% into the address bar of the Windows Explorer and pressing the Return/Enter-key, you can directly open your User-Roaming-folder.
