Users with setups having 4K / High Res screens occasionally may face issues with the display of some applications, particularly when it comes to the size of icons/ User Interface Elements. Although the OS version plays a part in this, there steps you can take in order to achieve the results expected.
In ARES Commander, you have the option of running a "Big Icons" display:
Type OPTIONS in the command line, and press Enter.
Go to "System Options", and expand the node "Display", and then "Screen Options":
Check the box "Use large icons".
Click "Apply", and "OK".
If the steps above don't provide the result you were looking for, you can try to address it via OS settings. This process is applicable to any application installed.
Select the ARES Commander desktop shortcut, and Mouse Right-Click. Select/Click "Properties".
Click the "Compatibility" tab.
Go to "Change high DPI settings".
Go to the ‘High DPI scaling override’ settings.
Check the “Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by:” option.
After that, choose the “System (Enhanced)” option from the drop-down list.
Click “OK“.
In the following window, again Click "OK".
