When designing electrical schematics, wires often cross each other in the drawing area. To improve readability and adapt diagrams to different drafting standards, ARES Electrical allows users to customize how wire crossings are displayed.

Users can now choose between different Wire Crossing Types, defining how wires appear when they intersect in a schematic.

Once configured, the selected crossing style is automatically applied to all wire intersections throughout the project.

Available Wire Crossing Types

ARES Electrical provides three different visual representations for wire crossings:

Cross
The traditional representation where wires simply cross each other without any visual indication of separation.

Gap
Creates a small space where one wire crosses another, visually indicating that the wires are not electrically connected.

Bump
Creates a curved bump on the wire that passes over another wire, clearly showing that one wire crosses above the other.

These options allow users to choose the style that best fits their company standards or project documentation requirements.

How to Change the Wire Crossing Type

Follow these steps to configure the wire crossing representation:

  1. Open the Manage tab.

  2. Go to Customization.

  3. Click Electrical Settings...

  4. Locate the Wire Crossing Type configuration.

  5. Select one of the available options:

    • Cross

    • Gap

    • Bump

  6. Confirm the changes.

After applying the configuration, the selected style will be used throughout the entire project.
