To measure and accurately plot this element, a diagonal measurement is required.
⚠️ Important Setup: Position the laser in the room so that it sits front-on or centrally in front of the beam. You must be able to reach both the back-bottom edge and the front-top edge of the beam with the laser.
Step 1: Measure the back-bottom edge
Aim the laser at the bottom right, exactly on the back corner edge of the beam (shown as Point 1 in the diagram), and take the measurement.
Step 2: Measure the front-top edge
Aim the laser at the top right, exactly on the front corner edge of the beam (shown as Point 2 in the diagram), and take the measurement.
(Note: Steps 1 and 2 allow the software to calculate the exact width and height of the beam.)
Step 3: Define the length
Measure a point on the opposite wall, close to where the beam meets it. This measurement defines the total length of the beam.
Result
The beam will now be correctly drawn and displayed crossways in the room layout.
