Propagate Electrical Properties Across Connected Wires

What's New 2027 SP2, ARES Electrical, Wires, Properties

Written by Vinicius Moraes

ARES Electrical introduces two new commands that let you update a wire's properties — name, color, cross-section, and other electrical or custom properties — and apply that change to every wire electrically connected to it, in a single step.

This is especially useful in large projects, where a single electrical connection can span many wire segments across different pages.

How It Works

  • Propagate properties — Select a wire, right-click, and choose Propagate properties. The wire's properties are applied to every wire that's electrically connected to it, following existing derivation logic.

  • Propagate — If you're replacing the wire entirely, choose Propagate instead. This replaces the wire and automatically propagates the new properties to its connected network in one action.

Both commands only affect wires that are genuinely part of the same electrical connection — unrelated wires are never touched.
